Could a Ketamine-Like drug help sedate sepsis patients on ventilators?
NCT ID NCT07556172
First seen Apr 29, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 29, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether esketamine, a drug related to ketamine, can safely sedate and prevent confusion (delirium) in 80 adults with sepsis who need a breathing machine. The goal is to see if it reduces time on the ventilator and improves survival. Current sedatives can cause breathing problems or delirium, so esketamine may offer a better option.
