NCT ID NCT07179367
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether an escape room simulation could help nursing students feel more confident about patient safety. 95 senior nursing students took part, solving safety-related puzzles in themed rooms. After the activity, their self-efficacy scores rose from 61 to 71 out of 75, and they reported high satisfaction with the training.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Escape room simulation
What this could lead to
If successful, this teaching method could be adopted in nursing schools to better prepare students for real-world patient safety challenges.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-site study with no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The improvement in self-efficacy may not translate to actual clinical performance.
