New imaging agent could spot esophagus inflammation without biopsy

NCT ID NCT05757856

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tested a radioactive imaging agent (NDX-3315 and NDX-3324) to see if it can safely and accurately detect eosinophilic esophagitis, a condition where immune cells build up in the esophagus. It involved 34 healthy adults and patients with the disease. The goal was to compare the imaging results with standard biopsy findings to see if the agent could replace or reduce the need for invasive biopsies.
