First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how major spine surgery damages the protective lining of blood vessels, called the glycocalyx. Researchers will measure a substance called Syndecan-1 in the blood of 30 people before and after surgery. The goal is to understand the extent of this damage and see if it differs between patient groups, such as teens with scoliosis, adults with degenerative spine disease, and cancer patients.
