The goal is to see if the program is acceptable and helpful, and whether it reduces caregiver distress and improves the child's daily functioning.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Empowered Relief for Caregivers (ER-CY) - a single-session behavioral skills class delivered online

What this could lead to

If successful, this program could provide a practical, low-cost way to reduce caregiver distress and improve daily life for families of youth with chronic pain.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 80 participants and no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The program is brief and may not be enough for families with complex needs.
