ER doctors launch attack on high cholesterol to stop heart attacks before they happen
NCT ID NCT06488105
Summary
This study is testing a new program that starts heart disease prevention for patients visiting the emergency room for chest pain. The program checks cholesterol, calculates heart risk, and prescribes medication right away, with the goal of preventing future heart attacks and strokes. Researchers want to see if this early start in the ER is more effective than waiting for a regular doctor's appointment.
