First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether starting cholesterol-lowering treatment in the emergency department can prevent future heart problems. About 130 adults aged 40-75 who are at risk for heart disease but not yet on treatment will receive guideline-based care right in the ER. The goal is to see if this approach lowers bad cholesterol and helps patients stick with long-term prevention.
