Electric acupuncture aims to restore lost memory after stroke
NCT ID NCT07423715
First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gentle electric current applied to acupuncture points can improve memory and thinking in people who have cognitive problems after a stroke. About 110 adults aged 35-80 will be randomly assigned to receive either real electroacupuncture or a sham version, alongside standard care. The main goal is to see if the real treatment leads to better scores on thinking tests over 6 months, and brain scans will help understand how it might work.
