Robot and VR join forces to spot hidden stroke deficits
NCT ID NCT07290218
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will test a new robotic and virtual reality system called NeglectARm 3D in 15 people who have spatial neglect after a stroke. The system uses a robot arm and VR headset to measure how well patients notice objects in 3D space. Researchers want to see if the device is easy to use, safe, and gives reliable results compared to standard paper tests.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Non-CE-marked robotic device (NeglectARm 3D) with virtual reality headset
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a more precise, objective tool for diagnosing spatial neglect after stroke, improving rehabilitation planning.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small early-stage study (15 participants) focused on feasibility, not treatment. The device is not yet approved, and results may not apply to all patients.
