NCT ID NCT07493889
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This small pilot study looked at whether adding a special type of electrical stimulation to standard wound care helps heal chronic pressure injuries (bedsores) in people with spinal cord or brain injuries. Twenty adults who had bedsores that didn't improve after four weeks of standard care were randomly assigned to get either electrical stimulation plus standard care or standard care alone. The treatment was applied five times a week for six weeks, and researchers measured changes in wound size, severity, anxiety, depression, and quality of life.
