First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a simple alert built into hospital electronic health records. When a doctor writes a note for a patient who smokes, the alert automatically suggests prescribing nicotine replacement therapy and ordering lung cancer screening. The goal is to see if this reminder helps more hospitalized smokers get the help they need to quit and be screened for lung cancer.
