First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a bone-grafting material made from eggshells (nano hydroxyapatite) works better than the standard material for repairing bone defects caused by gum disease. Twenty-eight adults with deep gum pockets received surgery and one of the two materials. The researchers measured bone regrowth, pocket depth, and gum health over six months.
