NCT ID NCT05412212

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a 3-minute educational video can help more people complete their treatment for latent tuberculosis (LTBI). About 1,898 adults at Kaiser Permanente Southern California are randomly assigned to receive the video or standard care. The main goal is to see if the video increases the number of patients who finish their medication within a year.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

3-minute educational video

What this could lead to

If it works, this low-cost video could help more people complete latent TB treatment, reducing the risk of developing active TB.

What could go wrong

This is a behavioral intervention, not a new drug. The effect may be small, and results from one healthcare system may not apply everywhere.
