Summary

This study looks at how fat buildup in the pancreas contributes to type 2 diabetes and whether weight loss can reverse it. Researchers will put 104 overweight adults (with and without diabetes) on a very low-calorie diet for 8-12 weeks, then support weight loss for up to a year. The goal is to understand the body's fat-making processes and how they change with weight loss, potentially leading to new diabetes treatments.
