Simple cleaning change could sharpen lung cancer staging

NCT ID NCT07461662

First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether cleaning the needle used in a lung cancer staging procedure more thoroughly can prevent leftover cancer cells from contaminating samples. About 204 adults with suspected lung cancer will take part. No extra procedures are needed—just an extra flush of the needle after normal cleaning. The goal is to see if this simple change leads to more accurate staging and better treatment decisions.
