NCT ID NCT04632303
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether starting palliative care early—right after diagnosis—improves quality of life for people with advanced pancreatic cancer. 250 participants receive regular visits from a palliative care team, plus referrals to exercise and nutrition experts. The goal is to see if this approach helps patients feel better and possibly live longer.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Early palliative care (specialist visits, exercise referral, nutritional support)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that starting palliative care early helps people with advanced pancreatic cancer feel better and live better.
What could go wrong
This is a supportive care study, not a treatment for the cancer itself. It may not improve survival or quality of life for everyone.
