First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at over 2,400 critically ill patients who needed breathing machines and medications for shock. Researchers compared early feeding through a tube into the stomach (enteral nutrition) versus feeding through a vein (parenteral nutrition) to see which approach reduced deaths by day 28. The goal was to find the safest way to provide nutrition in the intensive care unit.
