Could early treatment stop asthma before it gets severe?

NCT ID NCT07309614

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether the medication dupilumab can help people with moderate asthma achieve complete control (remission) when given early, before the disease becomes severe. About 150 adults aged 18-79 with moderate asthma and high inflammation markers will receive either dupilumab or a placebo every 2 weeks for one year, alongside their usual inhalers. The goal is to see if early treatment prevents asthma attacks and lung damage, potentially changing the approach from waiting until asthma is severe to preventing it.
