First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether starting a regular diet early after colorectal surgery helps patients recover bowel function faster compared to the standard clear fluids approach. About 80 adults with a single large bowel connection will be followed to measure food tolerance, leakage risk, and hospital stay length. The goal is to find the best feeding plan to improve recovery.
