This study looked at 400 adults having scheduled, complex heart surgery to find a better way to detect acute kidney injury early. Researchers combined standard tests with newer biomarkers to create a score that could identify kidney problems within 6 hours after surgery. The goal is to catch kidney damage sooner so doctors can take steps to prevent serious complications.
