New approach offers safer smoking alternative for those not ready to quit
NCT ID NCT06543407
Summary
This study is testing whether providing e-cigarettes, with or without counseling support, can help people with mental health conditions who smoke daily reduce the harm from tobacco when they aren't ready to quit completely. It will enroll 250 adults with conditions like depression or bipolar disorder who smoke at least 10 cigarettes a day. The goal is to see if switching to e-cigarettes lowers exposure to harmful chemicals and reduces cigarette use.
