E-Cigs tested as a safer alternative for asthmatic smokers
NCT ID NCT05278065
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This small study looked at whether giving electronic cigarettes to adults with asthma who smoke could help them cut down on regular cigarettes and possibly improve their breathing. Seventeen people took part, and researchers tracked how many cigarettes they smoked, their asthma symptoms, and lung function over several weeks. The goal was to see if switching to e-cigarettes might reduce harm, not to cure asthma or smoking addiction.
