First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a mobile app called SleepFix that provides digital behavioral therapy for insomnia in 128 older adults aged 50+ who also had mild memory concerns. Participants either used the app or received online sleep health education. The goal was to see if the app could reduce insomnia severity and possibly improve thinking skills over 8 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
SleepFix mobile application (digital behavioural therapy for insomnia)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug way to improve sleep and possibly thinking in older adults with mild memory concerns.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with 128 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the app requires a smartphone and willingness to use it.
