Can a steroid blast calm kidney stent pain?

NCT ID NCT06930690

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a high dose of the steroid dexamethasone (20 mg) can reduce urinary symptoms and pain after kidney stone surgery when a temporary stent is placed. About 70 adults will receive either the high dose or a standard dose (4 mg) during surgery and report their symptoms through questionnaires and clinic visits. The goal is to see if the higher dose improves quality of life in the days after the procedure.
