New hope for toddlers with esophagus inflammation: dupilumab trial launches
NCT ID NCT07112378
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests the drug dupilumab in children as young as 6 months who have active eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), a condition that causes inflammation in the esophagus and can make eating difficult. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and effective over 24 weeks. About 20 children will participate, receiving one of two dose regimens.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
dupilumab (Dupixent)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a treatment option for young children with EoE, helping reduce inflammation and improve feeding and growth.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 20 children, so results may not apply broadly. Side effects are possible, and the drug may not work as hoped.
