Massive study probes cancer risk in eosinophilic esophagitis patients
NCT ID NCT07102329
First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at health records from about 100 million people to find out if those with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) are more likely to develop esophageal cancer. The researchers wanted to see if any increased risk is due to EoE itself or to other common conditions like GERD or Barrett's esophagus. The study did not test any new treatments, but instead aimed to better understand the long-term risks for people with EoE.
