First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doulas with special training in perinatal mental health can help pregnant women in rural Montana feel more confident and supported, and reduce depression and anxiety. About 75 pregnant women will be split into three groups: one gets a specially trained doula, one gets a regular doula, and one gets standard care. Researchers will track their mental health and well-being through surveys during pregnancy and up to 6 months after giving birth.
