Can a Doula's support shield new mothers from depression?
NCT ID NCT05763537
Summary
This study is testing whether support from a doula—a trained birth companion—can improve mental health and wellness for pregnant people. Researchers will enroll 75 pregnant participants from rural Montana to compare different types of doula care to standard care. The main goal is to see if this support reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety and increases feelings of confidence and wellness during pregnancy and after birth.
