Doctors test tube placement formulas to prevent breathing tube mishaps
NCT ID NCT07191002
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at 30 adults having lung surgery to see if six common formulas correctly predict how deep a double-lumen breathing tube should go. If the formulas are off, the tube can cause problems like airway injury or low oxygen. Researchers will also measure the patient's neck and mouth to see if those measurements help. The goal is to improve tube placement and possibly create a better formula.
