First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how well the drug dostarlimab works and how safe it is for people with a certain type of advanced rectal cancer (dMMR/MSI-H). About 50 adults with stage II or III rectal cancer will receive dostarlimab before any other treatment. Researchers will track tumor shrinkage and any side effects in real-world settings.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Dostarlimab (a drug given through a vein every 3 weeks for 9 cycles)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that dostarlimab is an effective treatment option for certain rectal cancers, potentially reducing the need for surgery or chemotherapy.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It is not a randomized trial, and long-term outcomes are still unknown.
