NCT ID NCT06874491

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether two simple distraction methods—a moving 3D book or a hand puppet—can lower fear and anxiety in preschool children (ages 4-6) receiving inhalation therapy for the first time. Researchers will measure fear and anxiety levels before and after the treatment. The goal is to make a scary procedure more fun and improve cooperation.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could give hospitals a simple, fun way to help young children feel less scared and anxious during inhalation treatment.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 126 children, so results may not apply to all kids or settings. The distraction methods may not work for every child.
