Spine procedure safe: no extra disc damage after 10 years
NCT ID NCT07567404
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study followed 50 people with chronic low back pain for 10 years after they had a procedure that punctured a spinal disc. Researchers used MRI scans to check if the punctured disc wore out faster than expected. The main goal was to see if the puncture itself caused extra damage. Results suggest that the procedure does not speed up disc degeneration over a decade.
