First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two approaches to reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescribing for children with ear infections. One approach uses clinician education and electronic tools; the other adds a shared decision-making component that involves parents more. The goal is to see which method works better at reducing antibiotic use while keeping parents satisfied. About 1,566 participants will be involved, including parents, clinicians, and administrators.
