First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This large observational study is checking how pneumococcal vaccines have changed the types of bacteria living in children's noses. Researchers will compare healthy children and those with ear infections to see which bacterial strains are present and whether they resist antibiotics. The goal is to understand if the vaccines are still working well and if new resistant strains are emerging.
