NCT ID NCT07156942
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a story-based digital game played during hemodialysis sessions can help patients feel less anxious and learn more about their diet and treatment. 40 adults on regular dialysis played the game once a week for 4 weeks, each session lasting 10-15 minutes. Researchers measured changes in anxiety, diet knowledge, and how well patients followed their treatment plan.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to help dialysis patients feel less anxious and stick to their diet and treatment plan.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The game is very short (10-15 minutes once a week) and may not produce lasting changes.
