First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a digital program called DDEP, delivered through the LINE messaging app, to help people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their care partners make healthy lifestyle changes. Over six months, 208 participants either received the DDEP plus usual care or usual care alone. The goal was to see if the program could protect kidney function and support healthier daily habits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Digital Dyadic Empowerment Program (DDEP) via LINE app
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could offer a simple, scalable way to help CKD patients and their care partners adopt healthier habits and slow kidney decline.
What could go wrong
This is a completed trial with 208 participants, but it's a behavioral intervention—results may vary by culture or tech access, and it doesn't test a drug or cure.
