Brain training games tested as digital therapy for depression in cancer and kidney patients

NCT ID NCT04961047

Summary

This Yale University study tested whether an 8-week program of computer brain games could help reduce depression and improve thinking skills and quality of life. The study involved 36 people with major illnesses, specifically cancer survivors and patients with end-stage kidney disease on dialysis. Participants were randomly assigned to either start the brain training games right away or be placed on a waitlist, to see if the games made a measurable difference.
