First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This pilot study tested a digital mental health program called TEPS for teens aged 12-18 with anxiety. Sixty-six participants were recruited from public libraries and randomly assigned to the digital program or usual library services. The study measured how acceptable, usable, and feasible the program was, along with changes in anxiety and avoidance.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could provide a low-cost, accessible way to help teens manage anxiety through public libraries.

What could go wrong

This is a small pilot study (66 teens) testing feasibility, not effectiveness. The program may not reduce anxiety significantly or work outside a library setting.
