NCT ID NCT07487428
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a 4-week whole-food plant-based diet can improve immune function and slow disease activity in people with early-stage chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who have not yet received treatment. Fifty participants will follow the diet and provide blood and stool samples before, during, and after the diet period. Researchers will measure changes in lymphocyte counts and immune cell metabolism.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
whole-food plant-based diet
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a dietary approach to help manage early-stage CLL without immediate drug treatment.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 50 participants and no control group. The diet is short-term, so any effects may be temporary or not clinically meaningful.
