Summary
This study looked at whether a drug called diazoxide, which lowers high insulin levels, can change how the liver handles fat and sugar in people with or at risk for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Twenty-four adults with overweight or obesity took either a low dose, a higher dose, or a placebo for two weeks. Researchers measured blood sugar, insulin, and fat levels to understand the role of high insulin in NAFLD.
