Can a simple diary ease the trauma for families after a Child's ICU?

NCT ID NCT04961697

Summary

This study tested whether giving families a diary to write in during their child's pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) stay could improve mental health and satisfaction. Researchers in Brazil enrolled over 400 families of children in the ICU to see if the diary program reduced anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress in parents and caregivers. The goal was to find a simple, supportive tool to help families cope during and after a highly stressful medical crisis.
