Blood oxygen test may guide fluid therapy in sepsis

NCT ID NCT07516236

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring oxygen levels in a central vein can help doctors decide if a patient with septic shock needs more fluids. About 115 adults with septic shock will have their oxygen levels checked before and after a fluid challenge. The results will be compared with standard heart ultrasound measurements to see if this simpler test is accurate.
