Summary

This study looks at two common diabetes pills—henagliflozin and metformin—to see how they affect muscle mass and blood sugar in older adults (ages 60-85) who are newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. About 116 participants will take one of the two medicines daily for 24 weeks. The goal is to find out which drug better preserves muscle while controlling diabetes, helping seniors stay stronger and healthier.
