Tiny nerve implants could give amputees a better sense of touch

Summary

This study is testing temporary nerve implants (FAST electrodes) in people with hand or arm amputations to improve control of a prosthetic hand and restore some feeling. About 25 participants will have the implants for around 18 months. Researchers will measure how well they can move and sense with the device.
