First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will test a new powered prosthetic hand system called Point Powered in 10 adults who have lost part of their hand. The device uses muscle signals to control moving fingers. Researchers will compare it to each person's current prosthetic to see if it improves hand function, daily activities, and quality of life over three months.

Active substance
Point Powered partial hand prosthetic system
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer people with partial hand loss a more functional, waterproof prosthetic that helps them do everyday tasks more easily.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 10 people. The device may not work better than current options, and results may not apply to everyone.
