New study tests safer blood pressure control during thyroid surgery

Summary

This study tests whether a sedative called dexmedetomidine can safely control blood pressure and heart rate during surgery to remove active thyroid tumors. About 80 adults aged 20 to 65 will receive either dexmedetomidine or standard blood pressure medicines. The goal is to see if this approach reduces dangerous swings in blood pressure and improves recovery.
