First seen Jun 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether giving a sedative called dexmedetomidine during lung surgery (VATS) can reduce coughing and pain, and help patients recover faster. 144 adults having non-intubated VATS took part. The goal was to see if the drug improves comfort and reduces the need for other pain medicines during the procedure.
