First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether the steroid dexamethasone, when added to standard care, can lower the chance of death within 90 days for people with severe lung injury (ARDS) caused by sepsis. About 1,474 adults on breathing machines will be randomly assigned to receive either dexamethasone or a placebo. The goal is to see if this anti-inflammatory drug helps more people survive and recover.
