Finger cuff vs. standard cuff: which prevents dangerous drops in blood pressure during surgery?
NCT ID NCT06753097
First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study compared two ways of monitoring blood pressure during non-cardiac surgery: a continuous finger-cuff device versus the standard arm cuff that measures intermittently. The goal was to see if the finger-cuff could reduce episodes of dangerously low blood pressure during surgery. About 930 low-to-moderate risk adults having elective surgery took part. The results will help doctors choose the best monitoring method to keep patients safer.
