This trial investigates whether maintaining a higher blood pressure (85 mmHg or above) during surgery can reduce the risk of postoperative delirium—a sudden confusion that can occur after surgery—in older adults (65+) with high blood pressure. About 3,400 participants having non-cardiac surgery will be randomly assigned to either a higher or standard blood pressure target.
